HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU’RE A SENIOR
// January 14th, 2011 // Comments Off // Uncategorized
George Phillips of Ontario,Canada was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window….
George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked, “Is someone in your house?”
He said “No.”
Then they said, “All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and
an officer will be along when one is available.”
George said, “Okay.” He hung up the phone and
counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there
were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don’t
have to worry about them now because I just shot them all,”
and hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a
Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an
Ambulance showed up at the Phillips’ residence,
and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, “I thought you
said that you shot them!”
George said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”
I love it!!! Don’t mess with seniors!!

Liberalism and Conservatism

Liberalism and Conservatism (Click Here)
Why Do Liberals Hate Conservatives -
From Karl Marx to today, the Left has always hated people of the Right, not merely differed or been angry with them. The question is, why?
Here are three possible answers.
First, the Left thinks the Right is evil. Granting the exceptions that all generalizations allow for, conservatives believe that those on the left are wrong, while those on the left believe that those on the right are bad. Examples are innumerable. Howard Dean, the former head of the Democratic party, said, “In contradistinction to the Republicans, Democrats don’t believe kids ought to go to bed hungry at night.” Rep. Alan Grayson (D., Fla.), among many similar comments, said, “I want to say a few words about what it means to be a Democrat. It’s very simple: We have a conscience.”
Has any spokesman of the Republican party ever said anything analogous about Democrats’ not caring about the suffering of children or not having a conscience?
Second, when you don’t confront real evil, you hate those who do. You can see this on almost any school playground. The kid who confronts the school bully is often resented more than the bully. Whether out of guilt over their own cowardice or out of fear that the one who confronted the bully will provoke the bully to lash out more, those who refuse to confront the bully often resent the one who does. During the 1980s, the Left expressed far more hatred for Ronald Reagan than for Soviet Communist dictator Leonid Brezhnev. When Reagan labeled the Soviet Union an “evil empire,” the liberal world was enraged . . . at Reagan.
Those (usually on the left) who refused to confront Communism hated those (usually on the right) who did. They called the latter “warmongers” and “cold warriors” and charged them with having “missile envy” and with loving war.
Today, the Left has similar contempt for those who take a hard line on Islamic terror. The liberal and leftist media routinely place quote marks around the words “War on Terror.” To the Left, such a war is manufactured by rightists for nefarious reasons — oil, self-enrichment, imperialism, etc. Indeed, the Obama administration declines to use the term “Islamic terror.” America is at war with a nameless enemy. The enemies this administration is prepared to name are the Republican party, the tea parties, Fox News, and talk radio.
Third, the Left’s utopian vision is prevented only by the Right.
From its inception, leftism has been a secular utopian religion. As Ted Kennedy, paraphrasing his brother Robert F. Kennedy, said, “Some men see things as they are and say, Why? I dream things that never were and say, Why not?” That exemplifies left-wing idealism — imagining a utopian future. There will be no poor, no war, no conflict, no inequality. That future is only a few more government programs away from reality. And who stands in the way of such perfection? Conservatives. How could a utopian not hate a conservative?
This hatred will only increase if the Left feels its programs to greatly increase the size of government are in any way threatened in the forthcoming elections. The problem is that this hatred does not decrease when the Left is in power.
Hatred of conservatives is so much a part of the Left that the day the Left stops hating conservatives will mark the beginning of the end of the Left as we know it.

Seabiscuit: My Fave Scene
// December 24th, 2010 // 4 Comments » // Uncategorized
Seabiscuit (May 23, 1933 – May 17, 1947) was a champion Thoroughbred racehorse in the United States. From an inauspicious start, Seabiscuit became an unlikely champion and a symbol of hope to many Americans during the Great Depression. Seabiscuit became the subject of a 1949 film, The Story of Seabiscuit; a 2001 book, Seabiscuit: An American Legend; and a 2003 film, Seabiscuit, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Sure you will have your own views on what you agree with or don’t agree with regarding the above film clip. Nevertheless, nothing will be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome.
There are many fine posts on Care2 each day. The environmental and animal welfare posts usually have the word “Action” in the title. The political posts don’t seem to have that call for specific action. Why not? Why is there so much political rhetoric but nothing more? Have people just given up?
Maybe we need some fresh ideas. Maybe we need a Care2 political action group(s). Maybe we need a means to speak on some issues with a unified vioce. Maybe we need a way to show each other the usual lame responses that we get from our legislators. And maybe we need a way to make our legislators aware of what we are publishing for all to see.
We as a strong and determined group need to find the answers. Please lets discuss this. And those that have leadership skills and want to lead, let me know.
Thank you.

The rubble of WTC Building 7 lies in front of the Fiterman Hall building. The building has fallen in its own footprint – a sign of controlled demolition?

Quandry
// December 6th, 2010 // 6 Comments » // Uncategorized
Since joining Care2, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a number of truly nice people. I’ve also concluded, in my mind, that the majority of those active on Care2 fall into three main camps – animal activists, environmental activists, and haters of political moderates and conservatives. Yes haters! This is a generalization, of course. I happen to fully support the first two groups. My quandry is why does one organization, which supports so many fine causes, have such a majority of haters of moderate and conservative leaning folks? Some are downright fanatical and can’t seem to comment on any subject without injecting their politically oriented anger. I’m certainly not referring to those that disagree with the political persuasions of others nor their voicing their opposition. But when some routinely revert to foul language and name calling, I think that they have lost their rationality and sense of decency. I hope that I’m completely wrong in my thinking. “Tell me it aint so Joe”
Thanksgiving Song For Our Military
// November 23rd, 2010 // Comments Off // Uncategorized
This special Thanksgiving dedication is a tribute to our Past, Present & Future US Troops. Whether you have (or have not) served in the military, we must never lose sight of the sacrifices made by our soldiers, and their families.
The Thanksgiving Song was written with our troops in mind. The song and these photos emotionally expresses to all Americans (and everyone celebrating Thanksgiving) to stop, reflect, and be grateful for all we have, and continue to receive.
